The Vault Group was created by two investors who took different paths into real estate but shared the same goal: build something real, build it the right way, and help others do the same.
Ray Butler started investing at 19, turning a small borrowed amount and a 0% interest credit card into his first property. Through consistent buying, strategic rehabs, and disciplined execution, he built a growing portfolio and hands-on experience in acquisitions, renovations, and long-term investing.
Alec Smith transitioned from a modest corporate role into full-time real estate, closing over $8M in transactions remotely. Along the way, he developed a strong understanding of deal structure, credit-based funding, and how to position investors for scalable growth.
Together, Ray and Alec bring a practical, results-driven approach to real estate—combining operational experience and strategic financing to help everyday investors build portfolios with confidence.
